U.S. Army Captain Timothy I. McGovern, 28, Idaville, Indiana.

    Died October 31, 2007 in Mosul, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, of injuries sustained when an improved explosive device detonated near his military vehicle.

    He was assigned to the 2nd Battlation, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.

    He was a 1997 graduate of Twin Lakes High School where he participated in football and track. He enjoyed shooting sports and was an Eagle Scout. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army upon graduation from Purdue University in 2001. He completed his Masters Degree at Webster University in Missouri.

    This was his second tour of duty. He was commander of a Combat Engineer Company.
