Army Reserve Sgt. Christopher Talor Monroe, 19, Kendallville, Indiana.

Died October 25, 2005, in Basra, Iraq, when his convoy was attacked at a roadblock. The Department of Defense said in a written statement Friday that Monroe was killed when the truck he was riding in was involved in an automobile accident with a civilian vehicle.
He was the only one killed in that specific attack, the family said. He was filling in for a friend on the convoy, which was a change from his typical desk job. He had joined a Fort Wayne-based reserve unit while he was in high school and had been transferred to the Army Reserve’s 785th Military Police Battalion in Fraser , Mich.
